Privacy Policy.
We collect as little personal data as we can while still keeping this site running and improving. This page tells you exactly what is collected, why, how long it is kept, who it is shared with, and how to exercise your rights under GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent regimes.
01 · What we collect
This site is an editorial publication. It does not require an account, does not ask for your email, and does not host comments. Concretely:
- Cookie consent state. One first-party cookie / localStorage entry records whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies. See the cookie policy.
- Server log data. Our hosting provider records standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL, referrer) in access logs. This is the unavoidable minimum needed to serve a web page.
- Aggregate analytics. If enabled, we may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (e.g. Plausible or a self-hosted equivalent) that records page views and aggregate referrers without cookies, without cross-site identifiers, and without sharing data with third parties.
We do not collect: names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment information, precise location, contact lists, browsing history outside this site, or any special category data.
02 · Why we collect it
- To serve the website and keep it reachable.
- To remember your cookie banner choice so we don't ask you again.
- To measure aggregate traffic so we can prioritise what to write about next.
- To investigate abuse, security incidents, and operational issues.
03 · Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6)
- Legitimate interest for operational logs and aggregate analytics with no personal identifiers.
- Consent for any non-essential cookie or tracker, captured via the cookie banner.
- Legal obligation where applicable, e.g. compliance with takedown or law-enforcement requests.
04 · How long we keep it
- Access logs: up to 30 days, then automatically rotated.
- Aggregate analytics: indefinitely in anonymised, aggregated form (no individual identifier survives).
- Cookie consent state: in your browser, until you clear it or until 12 months pass, whichever comes first.
05 · Who we share with
We do not sell personal data. We do not share data with advertisers. We use a small number of essential service providers, each acting as a data processor under our instructions:
- Hosting / CDN. Serves the website. Processes IP addresses and request metadata to route and cache traffic.
- Font delivery. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; Google may receive your IP address as part of that request. If this is a concern, we provide system-font fallbacks that render correctly without the third-party fetch.
- Analytics (if enabled). See above — cookieless, aggregate, no personal identifiers.
06 · International transfers
Our hosting provider and font provider may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data crosses borders, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards under applicable law.
07 · Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal data;
- Delete your personal data (the "right to be forgotten");
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Portability of data you provided to us;
- Withdraw consent for processing based on consent, at any time;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
For practical purposes, since we collect almost nothing tied to you personally, most rights are satisfied by clearing your browser data and not visiting the site.
08 · Contact
To exercise any of these rights, or for any privacy question, write to the Publisher at the contact address listed on the operating entity's registration documents. We respond within 30 days.
